Activities (recent)

2014 –2017 Syrian Elsewhere ongoing project 

This visual project is to monitor and follow-up with Syrians in the European countries in particular. Documenting the various stages of their experience in the new society.

2012 – Arts Unify Project, initiator

Space for artistic forms of expression (incl. music, photography and short movies) to reflect on the diversity of culture and ethnicity in Syria.

2011 – 2012 Media and Fear project, together with journalist Rula Asad

A series of documented interviews with representatives of the Syrian population probing the general opinion on state-sponsored, private media and social media in shaping public opinion regarding the political turmoil since March 2011.

2010 – 2011 Child and Tent project, together with journalist Rula Asad

A documentary photobook and film ‘Four simple questions’ about drought victims in Syria.

2009 Survival business book, photography on streetkids in Syria.

2007 – present Photography teacher at Fotovakschool, Apeldoorn and Amsterdam.

2006 Photography teacher at Fotoacademie, Groningen.
